The Purpose of the Courtesy Circle

The Courtesy Circle is a guild focusing on the promotion of respect and consideration among the guests in the Outer Bailey of Castle Marrach. The guild believes that courtesy -- the humble and honorable treatment of those around us -- leads to the greater good for all, including Her Majesty Queen Vivienne.

One of the primary focuses of the guild is a series of open forum talks on various topics regarding courtesy and etiquette. Some of the past talks include the following:

• Courtesy for the Newly Awakened
• Courtesy in the Inner Bailey
• Courtesy in Dueling
• Courtesy in Courtship
• Courtesy and Closed Doors

Courtesy Circle Meetings

• January the 27th: The first meeting of the Courtesy Circle, at which the general purpose and intent of the guild was discussed.
• February the 10th: In which the initial guild members were officially admitted, and two issues were discussed: courtesy in dueling, and courtesy in courtship.
• February the 17th: In which the courtesy of dueling was discussed in greater detail.
• February the 24th: In which both courtesy in courtship and meeting courtesy were briefly discussed.
• March the 3rd: In which courtesy with closed doors was discussed.
• March the 10th: An aborted meeting, in which dueling was discussed briefly.
• March the 24th: In which courtesy in courtship was discussed further.
• April the 28th: In which Mistress Ermengarde spoke about appropriate dress in the Outer Bailey.
• May the 5th: In which courtesy toward those of superior rank was discussed in some depth.
